Description:

Massive woolly mammoth task in excellent condition. Comes on wooden stand. Measures 5 1/2 feet wide and 3 1/2 feet tall from the stand and about 7 1/2 in total length. The Wooly Mammoth or Mammuthus primigenius s a species of mammoth that lived during the Pleistocene epoch, and was one of the last in a line of mammoth species, beginning with Mammuthus subplanifrons in the early Pliocene. The woolly mammoth diverged from the steppe mammoth about 400,000 years ago in eastern Asia. Its closest extant relative is the Asian elephant. The Mammoth went completely extinct approximately 3600 years ago, however most of the species had already died out 10,000 years ago.
