Q: I have some pieces that I would like to sell. How do I get them to you?
A: No need to load up the car, we will come get your items free of charge! Our expert staff will pick up your pieces, tag them and sell them at auction. If your lucky, Elmer may even demonstrate his auctioneer's voice.
Q: I've never been to an Auction before. What do I do?
A: HOLD UP YOUR CARD! No seriously,come on in! We'll have you fill out a registration form and give you a number. There is no fee to register. It is that simple. If you're still feeling nervous, we'd be happy to hold your hand and your bidder number!
Q: Do you deliver items that I purchase?
A: Unfortunately, we do not. We are so busy picking up great finds for you, that we simply do not have the time. However, we can suggest several companies that would love to deliver. Ok, Ok so some of the guys have pickup trucks and you may be able to arrange an AFTERHOURS delivery. Be sure and throw them a few bucks, they have families, too.
Q: What are your hours
A: Elmer is usually around from 9 to 4 Monday through Friday. That said, the Saturday before the Auction we're open 9 to 6 and the week prior to the Auction ( Preview week) we're open 9 to 6 as well. Any questions? Call us at 404-252-2555.
Q: Should I preview before the sale?
A: We highly encourage preview the week before the sale. It makes for a happy consignor and a happy buyer. Please bring your experts to preview because after the sale, it's too late.
Q: Do you sell high end items?
A: At our last jewelry auction, we sold a GIA certified internally flawless 8 Carat Diamond. The buyer was happy, the consignor was happy, ergo we're happy. We've sold Tiffany lamps, important paintings by listed artists and furniture made for royalty.
Q: What's the weirdest thing you ever sold?
A: Well, ....we think it was a piece of exercise equipment but it may have had a more prurient purpose. It vibrated - need I say more? When Elmer straddled it on stage, it sent the first three rows into a fit of hysteria. The staff wanted to keep the "piece", but we are always looking out for our customers and we had to let it go......Please don't bring it back.
Q: Is there a fee to register?
A: No, our auctions are open to the public.
Q: What if I see a chandelier that I have to buy, but I can't make it to the sale?
A: You fill out an Absentee Bidder form.Leave us a credit card number and one of our staff will be your bidding proxy.
Q: Can I buy something off the floor?
A: No, we are not set up for retail. We only sell at auction.
Q: What is a Buyer's premium? and how much is it?
A: Our Buyer's premium is 15%. 15% standard with most Auction Houses. However, some do charge 20%.If you purchased something for $100, then your total would be $115.
